Painting Mercedes hubcaps

Does anyone know how to paint the hubcaps for a Mercedes. I tried it, using tape, thought I did a pretty good job taping. After taking the tape off it looked pretty bad.

Is there a special way to do it right.

Thanks, I think I will leave them unpainted, looks good to.
