W126 1991 Door Sill Plate Replacement Procedure?

I want to replace the door sill plates on my 1991 W126, this is the trim piece on the lower door jamb. Can anyone here tell me how to get them off?

Thank you.

Up. They are a friction fit on the sill itself. Make sure there are no exposed screws or plugs that might hide screws, but on any Benz I own or have worked on, they just pull straight up.

I just changed the sill plate on the driver side of my W124. I was able to see on the new plate how it was attached and therefore how to remove the old plate. Mine had 3 clips, located in the center and on both ends. I used a flexible plastic tool (to prevent scratching the paint) to pry straight up at those points, and it popped right off. Good luck.
