W124 center cons. mapholder slider replacement.
Not sure exactly what it's called, but there is a compartent aft of the shifter/window controls that has a sliding multi-section wood panel with a lock.
When I bought it the slider was punched in and the backing material (leather?) was ripped off of the handle. I've been able to dissassemble and repaird must of it but the tabs are broken off the very first section (the handle end with the opening *lever*) so it's really floppy and not very stable. At least it's consmetically acceptable at the moment (better than the robbed car look it had before) but it's very unstable and a careless hand will render it asunder once again. Are these parts easily located in wrecking yards? It's a 1990. I'll see if I can attach a photo, I'm sure my description is not clear. Evertying is solid except the multi-section slider panel. I hammered though 8 pages of detail posts but nothing so far on repair or replacement info.
