Insignia
What do you use---or how do you clean the paintwork around---the chrome insignia on the trunk? I have a 240D. The little spaces around the words "240D" and "DIESEL" are a real pain to polish and wax. Yes, I am feeling more than just a little compulsive...
I thought about "prying" them off, but decided that was not in keeping with the way most other things on the car were engineered. Q-Tips? ------ I spent all day today starting to get the car ready for breaking its winter hibernation in the garage. In eight hours, I managed to get the roof and trunk lid all spiffed up---cleaner, polish, and two coats of wax. Tomorrow: the doors... What a pretty car!

Around the star in the rear just use a small foam applicator (cut in pieces). The letters in the rear have a gap between them and the paint so you'll achieve better results if you remove them and reapply. Worst case scenario you may need to buy an entire badge if the old one breaks which costs approximately $20. If you decide to use Q-Tips and leave the badge on you'll have to follow up with wooden toothpick/boars hair brush combined with a quick detailer to remove the polish/wax.
Good luck either way and post some pictures, sounds like a beauty!
