Roof Shingle Scratch!!!!
I was driving down the freeway and a asphalt roof shingle flew out of the bed of a truck and went up my hood and front window. The scratches you can see, but cant feel, there are 4-5 of them about 2-3" long on the hood. Is this something I can take out by hand? Whats the process?
Thanks You, Brad

Brad,
If the scratches can not be felt with your fingernail then they aren't too deep and you might be able to get them out by hand. Meguiars sells two products Color X and Scratch X, both of which are designed to remove light scratches and oxidation. Try these first by hand. If this doesn't remove the scratches you'll need to borrow a friends Random Orbital Buffer or bring it to a body shop and have the hood buffed out. If you try it yourself products like Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish or 3M Finesse It II will work well with a random orbital buffer. Good luck.

Get the tag # or company name? They ARE responsible, you know.

Placo, I picked up a random-rotery buffer this evening. I'll try to see if I can get it out. Thanks for the advice.
Brookspw, I think we know that in this day and age...no one can (or will) be held responcible for anything they dont want to be responcible for. Thanks, Brad
