MB dealer here says there is no touch up paint availble for W126 bumpers. Does anyone here know of a source?

Actually I was at the dealer today and asked again. They ordered me a $41 can of spray paint that they say will match. I plan to spray into can cap and use a small brush to touch up what I need.

I've got a bumper part I had replaced (where the license plate screws in) and it came in flat primer grey. Broke it by pulling too close to a snow bank - a problem you prabably don't have

I'll stop by the dealer.....

The grey is available - perfect match and it's available at autozone but...don't have the color number/brand with me here. If you want it PM me.

Yes - I have rcv'd some PM's but keep forgetting to hit #3 garage and get the number off the can

I will tie a string around my finger

$4 a can it does the trick (yes I was skeptical so I painted a jack mount cover first - perfect match)

The $41 net paint I got from the dealer included one can of paint and one can of clear, perfect match (teal). I'm happy.

The trim paint for my 86 SDL is Dupli Color Bumper and TrimT-243 Med Gray. This tip came from my Indy who was touching up another 126 in the next bay. I was even skeptical and painted a jack cover before starting the "big" project. If you have scratches or imperfections in the plastic you will have to prime and 000 steel wool before painting - remember to use a the lightest primer as this effects the end result of the color. The primer or base on my SDL was yellow. I did a total repaint of the rear bumper and it's great -I don't enter car shows but still have pride in ownership and need to find a deal every now and then.

I'm trying to find this here in Canada, to touch up the grey bumper and trim on my '85 380SE. I can't seem to find any Duplicolor grey with that number on it. Even the web site in the U.S. doesn't list that number.
I did find a can of 'bumper' paint, called 'gray bumper', #CFB106. On the website, they list a bumper GREY #DUPFB106. It looks close, but can you confirm that this is the correct color? Is the number T-243 an obsolete code maybe?

Any chance you might have re-checked the code on this? I guess I'll spend the $8.00 anyway and try the paint that looks close (FB106). Always a use for grey paint around the shop anyway..

Double checked Dupli Color T-243. My purchace was at Autozone.
