"text" Interior
What is the best product to use to clean and protect the "text" seat covers and door panels on my 83 280 SL? The interior is perfect and I want to keep it that way!

The MB-Tex (not Text) is probably the highest quality vinyl in the auto industry and is known for extremely long wear. As with any synthetic surface, it does benefit from cleaning and protection from UV exposure. Leather hide oils or "food" really doesn't do much for what is essentially plastic. Lexol makes a spray cleaner/UV screen as well as other makers.

Should I stay away form the Son of Gun/Armorall type stuff? Where can I purchase the Lexol products?

Here's a good past thread
MBTex?? Leather??? A good parts store should have what you need, or sometimes motocycle shops, since their parts (vinyl and chrome) are constantly exposed they tend to have good stuff. I'd stay away from sprays that have silicone that can attack the surface, you're really looking for a cleaner and UV shield. |
