New differential Drain/Fill Plugs
Hello, does anyone know the part numbers for the differential drain/fill plugs for an '83 300D? One of these hex plugs is completely stripped and I want to put in new plugs when I change the oil. I am sure they have these in the Junk Yard but I mind as well get brand new ones. Does anyone know the part number for these...maybe I can order them through FastLane or Rusty...
Thanks for your help, Adiel |

Part number:
I wonder why you'll feel we know these part numbers. Even the parts books just have pictures.
Rusty can get or will have the plugs. And the junk yark could give a damn about number. |

A 186 997 00 32 for the one towards the front of the car. If memory serves, that is the drain plug. The EPC is showing the other one on the picture, but won't give me a part number for it. But it takes seal ring N 007603 024105.
Or you could call Phil at Fastlane and he'll get you what you need.

There is a magnetic plug from a 70's era manual trans that is available from the dealer for about $10 or $12. One of the least expensive items I've ever found at the dealer. Sorry don't know the part number. You can use this plug for the bottom drain in the diff, same threads.
