"My half pulley slapped my radiator."

Perhaps your radiator insulted your half pulley?

Leathermang: I showed it to my engineer friend this weekend who looked at it and showed me where the fatigue crack began and said that it likely just spread from there. I now suspect that the new belt with higher tension was the thing that accelerated its demise.

I went ahead a paid a little more to get the pulley that comes with the free alternator this past weekend from my FLAPS so I could get my car back on the road. The new pulley is one piece and I was not able to remove it (rebuild design has the end nut but seems to be different set-up as to shaft/fan/pulley interface so instead of fighting it, I just installed the whole unit. The belt doesn't ride very deep on the pulley though.

KCM: I still need a pulley for my reserve alternator so I will email you.

Thanks.
