mbzkid,

I would and I do correct someone during a conversation for blatant grammar errors.

Poor grammar makes an othersise intelligent person sound ignorant.

Take it as constructive criticism as it was meant.

If you saw someone R&R a tire the wrong way, wouldn't you try to correct them? Correcting grammar errors is the same thing to me. The person receiving the correction should be thankful and not resentful.

The first rule of leadership "praise in public and critize in private" send someone you want to correct grammer on a PM. I correct my nephew's grammer all the time, but it's in private email and not in front of his friends and family.

Interesting. I found a copy of the promissory note in the glovebox and I think my '83 TD cost something like 37k!! I'll check tomorrow and make sure...

My 1975 115/300D cost $11,500 new in San Antonio,Tx.

Lets hear it for PEH. He is right that bad grammer makes an otherwise intelligent person seem like a dolt. Listen to someone speaking Ebonics and tell me where they will fit in a society that speaks a version of standard English. The same goes with being able to write standard English. Ask yourself if you owned a company would you want a person that make him/herself understood repersenting your firm.

Hey I agree with correcting the young man, just not in public on the forum.

When I write here on the forum, I'm almost always in the living room watching the TV and sometimes talking with the wife. This usually is the cause for me to make a few typo's or to use "too" when I should have used "to" in thesentense or run wrods togather.

Enough said, what were we talking about before the thread's train of thought was derailed by a couple of nit pickers. Yes, I'm guilty of said offence.

Looks like someone killed this thread.

Too bad, since it was going well.
