Squeeking Rear Break.
My '95 E300 Diesel, developed a very loud squeak in one rear break about a month ago. It was squeaking when I applied the breaks going either forwards or in reverse, but mostly in reverse. They were still relatively good, (50%) but I changed them anyway.
The squeak disapeared for about a week, but now returned with a vengeance. The same rear break now squeak again, but only after I have used it a few times and it had a chance to heat-up. I should also mention that: - Both the original, and new pads, are OE Mercedes pads (with the Mercedes logo) - The disks were fine and did not need grinding. - The pins were grinded, cleaned, lubricated and reused. - The back of the pads had the special break grease applied to them - The edge of the pads were slightly grinded and bevelled prior to installation. What do I do next? Thanks Phil

For what it's worth, when my rear brakes began to squeak I was told by my mechanic that this is not uncommon with my vintage MB; and that, though I could pay to have them lubricated, the squeak might well come back. So I decided I'd just have to live with it. But I'd be glad to hear of any semi-permanent solutions to this problem.

My drivers side rear brake squeaks when I apply the brakes lightly, but only sometimes. I have less than 5k miles on Textar pads and ATE discs, not to mention I put the official MB anti-squeal paste on the back of the pads. If anyone comes up with a fix!?
