My car refuses to take me to work…
I’m experiencing difficulty’s starting my 220d w115 when I go to work.
I tried to start it in the morning and the battery seems to be out of power, after one or 2 attempts the start engine barley moves. In the afternoon when I came back from work its starts just fine and the battery as power. Could this be a defective battery? Humidity problem? We ad a bit of a weather change its colder and more humid. Any Ideas will be appreciated. Thanks Vasco |

Maybe the car is trying to tell you not to go to work! :p
As far as the real cause, have you checked for any stray drains on the battery such as a short somewhere? Unless your workdays are terribly long, the car probably sits longer overnight than during the day so it has more time to run the battery down.

How cold has it been getting there and how are your glow plugs?

What is puzzling me is if I had an short-circuit or same kind of energy drain the battery would be empty in the afternoon so I would be unable to start. Is it possible that my battery became temperature sensitive? |

Check your battery connections and grounds. These symptoms you describe are typical for a connection that is in poor shape, through either corrosion products building up or just plain looseness. You have connections at the battery, the ground strap from the battery to the frame, the connections at the starter itself, the ground from the engine to the frame, and so on. Once you eliminate the simple explanations, and if the symptoms persist, then it is time to look at the starter itself, and so on. Good luck, Jim

Sorry, I misunderstood your previous post. Has this only happened once, or is it a recurring thing?
