W126 removal of 1st aid kit box

How do you get the first aid kit box out of a W126 ('82 300SD). Any secrets to getting it out of there?
I need to get to the fuel level sending unit on a friends SD and don't quite see how to remove the box.
thanks

anybody?
The lip of the box is underneath the edge of the rear deck lid - that is what is keeping me from being able to remove it.

The parcel shelf has to come out first.

1.) Remove interior side trim at C pillar (a little tricky as you slide it up and slightly rearward to clear clips.) There are some clips on the front edge also.

2.) remove rear light connection (if present) from trunk.

3.) Slide parcel shelf forward (kinda under seat belts in C pillar trim). Make sure you clear large white plastic clip on parcel shelf (visible from inside trunk).

4.)Remove black plastic boxes.

I can't remember for sure, but I "think" that I accessed the fuel level sender by just removing the rear seat back. Of course you need to remove the seat cushion to get to the screws holding the seat back ;).

As I recall, I did it by lifting the parcel shelf just enough to slip out the first aid box. The pillar trim pieces have to be removed first.

Removing the fuel level sender is much easier through the openning of first aid box.

Does anyone have additional insight to offer to help remove the rear shelf entirely?

My second W126 apparently chauffeured a furry critter that called this area home. I would like to remove it in order to administer a thorough cleansing.

Any suggestion how to remove the rear seat? I guess the seat back is bolted, but is the bottom just clipped? Suggestions? I tried pushing and pulling...no luck.

Thanks in advance.

I will take pictures and document this removal to submit as DIY.

The rear seat in my 300SD has 2 parts. The seat part has 2 red clips in front which you just pull (or push, can't remember) pull up the seat, pull it out of the car, and you're done with that. The backrest should have 4 bolts (at each "corner" of the backrest) which are removed very easily. Once removed, pull out the backrest and you're done.
