Rubber Bumper Strip

My rubber bumper strips are coming loose due to failing of the two pieces that hold the rubber pad to the bumper. My question is should I pay the $40 a pair for them, or just use automotive adhesive? Would the adhesive be as reliable as the OE way?

If my wife would go back to work I wouldn't have to ask these kind of dumb questions. :o :D

Yeah, that is exactly what you want. She goes back to work and you get to post on M/Shop all day and then fix the 240. That would be fantastic :D
