Bad News on my $200 SD
 

Hello All,

I purchased a 1979 300SD two weeks ago and was trying to get her started up. The guy I bought it from said that a guy had looked at the car before me and tried to start it up and put a "gas rag" over the intake and the car fired and tried to start. I went ahead and bought the car (mainly for the tranny) and got it home only to begin the process of start up and found that the timing chain is broken as well as three cam bearing towers. Anybody got a 5cyl turbo head for sale? :o :( :mad: :cool: :rolleyes:

Will a later year model SD head work? Say 81-85?
