Talking 1983 D to 300SD swap

Hi there all!!
Got a quick question, how much hassle will it be to pull the 617 out of my D to replace the blown one in my SD? Wiil the mounts and such all line up? I know I have to change the oil pressure sending unit, but beyond that anything else? Anything that will stop this from happening ov er the long weekend? Any information would be greatly appreciated.....I didnt mention it's an 83 D to an 82 SD
Thanks again...

Pretty straight forward. What year is the SD. No reason you should not be able to do this over a long weekend.

Shouldn't be any problem at all then. I will be putting an '84 engine into a '79 over the next couple/few weeks and think that the engine mounts are a little different in the '79. I'll find out soon enough.
