E320 cdi transmision
 

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know what are the specs on the new cdi tran? The car is rated 201hp and 369lb torque. Would an increase to 227hp and 417lb torque in the engine output be enough to cause any problems. I know that usualy there is enough tolerance built in in any component to accomodate a wider range of engines but the diesel cdi is already on the high end when it comes to numbers. I am thinking to do a chip upgrade when I'll get delivery but I am uneasy about any potential problems with the trany. Has anyone red or heard about any chip upgrade on a CDI?

I'd be a bit more worried about how the factory warranty will withstand the effects of your ECU chip upgrade. I suspect you would void the powertrain portion of your factory warranty with a ECU mod.

Power chip claims that the upgrade is undetectable by the diagnostic equipment and there will be no bells ringing at the dealer. There is a lot of people who have had there chip retuned and they seem to be happy with the results.
