And when you get done with it, I envision that it will be in similar condition to one of your other vehicles that is now for sale. To wit:

This 240D with 4-spd...... needs alternator bracket, heater blower motor, shocks, tires and right front brake calliper..........Odometer says 285k, but its broken......... It's a bit of a mess with partially dismantled dash to fix the blower motor and the alternator is dangling amidst bracket repair .......it will have to be towed.

Maybe as a top of the food chain consumer who buys brand new cars all the time, you should think about backing up a few generations in MB history and getting a perfect condition 126, 123, 116 or 115 MB diesel in bumper-to-bumper restored condition instead.
240DD,

That is the best auto advice I have heard for a long time!!

I am a sales rep who frequently has big-shot clients in my car (or at least those who think they're big-shot clients). Were it not for this, I would certainly be driving a mint early 80's 300SD or 123 wagon with some sort of correction for the horribly uncomfortable seats and anemic sterio. Not that the above are ugly cars - it's just that my business reqiures a little "Bling - Bling."
