Need Photo Of Battery Vent Tube....

Hello all...

can some one please post a quality photo (s) of the battery vent tube...i replaced the battery today and the new instructions said to hook up the battery vent to the vehicle vent tube and gave an sparred adaptor - my car never had this vent tube...just wondering how it was plumbed...i am thinking of just running a long hose/tube down next to the idler arm...

thanks alot

I don't think a car with an underhood located battery has a vent tube. Usually these would be for a car like for example the 210 with it under the back seat, or the 202 with it in the trunk.

i hear that, but i am just trying to follow the factory (battery) recomendations....

the battery vent was to face the fire wall (and rott it out again - after rebuilding that im not having that story again) so i turned the battery 180* and i hear that the w140s had a problem with the vents not venting correctly...that is a reason for my logic to vent it close to earth....sorry earth...

but could this location pick up air and move the nasty nasty vent fumes down the chassis....should i vent it to the front of the inner wheel well where there is less air???

okay enought - thanks!

The 140 has it in the trunk too. The 202 had a recall about checking the vent tube and acid level, etc, maybe thats what you heard. If you're worried about the hydrogen gas damaging the firewall or something, then I can see doing something with the vent hose, more than likely any damage you had was caused by the acid itself, not the hydrogen gas. I'd place the battery in the original position tho........
