99 E300 Turbo lamp replacemnet

People I need to replace the headlamp on a 99 E300 turbodiesel on the passenger side (driver side is easy). I cannot get the cover to come out do I need to remove the air filter housing? has anyone done it and How? I looked in the owner's manual and it just says to remove the cover and get to the lamp, it does not say how to do it.

Cool

I have done this. I pulled the electrical connection of the air mast indicator (I think that's what its called) lossen the air hose connector and pulled off the air hose, then I could get the cover out. It is not easy.
