Cruise works in evening, not in morning?
I've got a 1984 300DT. My cruise works perfect on the way home in the evenings but wont work well or at all in the mornings. In the mornings when it works, it will set, then speed up past the set point then let off completely down to 5 mph or so below set point. Im thinking it may be a connection that when hot expands from the heat and makes contact. When it is cold or cool it may not make contact??? Any help???

I have a similar problem, but the opposite: my cruise works in the morning when cool, never in the heat of day. I posted a question on this last week and basically got no response.
The mystery continues...!

Try running a known, good cruise control amp.

Nearly every cruise problem is either the amp (most likely) or the actuator on the engine. Amps can be had for less than $150 rebuilt.

Replacement of all electrolytic capacitors in the amp module can remedy intermittent (temperature related) problems
