Thank you everyone

I have just recieved an email from "BillyBob"

He had bought an Injection Pump "in anticipation of buying a 617 car that needed a pump, but that fell through" So, "here's the deal you pay for the shipping from here in Massachusetts and you get the pump, you
put it on your engine and if it works you can pay me the $65 I paid for it. If
it doesn't work you can throw it away. "

I will be sending BillyBob Shipping payment as soon as he gets me a quote.

Bullwinkle: If you end up going to the junkyard, do still ask about an IP, for all we know this one that I am getting could also be bad

THIS MIGHT FINALLY BE THE END... (well, the end of it getting on the road.)

Yeah, $65 would be a he!! of a deal!!! That sounds almost too good to be true-these guys on here are worth their weight in gold!!!
I'll still ask down there what they would want for one-my theory is if the first one doesn't work, you could always get another one, I'll let you know what they say.

Billybob sent me a quote for shipping (only 12 bones!)

So, the payment has been sent.

Should come next week. (My paypal account is set up through my parents checking account, so for the check to clear it will take 3 days, then ship time is 3-5 days.)

Bullwinkle, mention my name when you see Mike and Shawna at EC. If they don't throw something at you, they just might help. I am occasionally connected with that place. Trying to get a web page up for them right now.
That place has got to be one of the greatest resources for people like us on this continent. You should see all the old Benzs they have on the hill (over 1000).
Sady, if ya need my pump locking tool, just holler. I'm local.

Ec?

Bobk, what is EC? Large salvage yard? Do you mind sharing their webpage address? Always on the lookout for good sources. One thousand mercedes cars caught my eye.

Well, I did everything right.

I had to pull the vavle cover to determine tdc on the number 1 cylinder. Did so, and installed the injection pump while the engine was at 24* btdc. Put all the fuel lines in and connected up the vacuum hoses. I bled out the hard lines. Lines 3, 4, and 5 bled out just fine. I never could get 1 or 2 bled atthe injectors. so, I took the number 1 & 2 hard lines off, while a helper cranked the engine. I watched the injection pump... no fuel flow from number 1 or 2. Nothing.

When I crank it after glowing, it hits on all three, then skips two. It really sounds like it would start if it had two more. Looks like another bad injection pump. (this very well could be because the seller of the IP did not know the condition of it.)

Looks like Im in the market for another one.

Bullwinkle, Have you made it to EC (junkyard) yet to see if they have a spare IP? If you havent please check for me. I will try to call if I can find your cell number..
