Yesterday after working half a day, I drove over to Mercedes Benz of Cincinnati, which is only about 12 miles from my work, and 25 miles from my home. I got my alignment done, and picked up a thermostat.

The parts guy at the counter said he had my car (85 sd) and a 84 300D, and his daughter drives a 76? 300SD.

I checked other prices, like new front rotors they wanted 87$ a piece not quite worth it.

On the way home from work today it stormed horribly, 1/2" Hail Balls, It was horrible, but my car did wonderfully! (esp. with the new tires)

I need to get those pictures up when I have few minutes... sorry..

Also, Welcome back boneheaddoctor!

Thanks Andy....I need to get an alignment on my W116 soon...Euro Motorcars in arlington wants $100 to do it...HBL is actually cheaper but they rape you on parts....like $25 a gallon antifreeze. And their Rep isn't the greatest.....I'll be goig to Euro Motorcars for the work...nobody else can do the job correctly.

Yeah, my dad payed for the alignment, because he said it went with the tires. He payed 100$ also. WE had to take it to the dealer though because they cant do the alignment correctly without the spreader bar. But you probably already knew that.

Im really glad that your posts did not get deleted and your still here to help with our problems.

Yeah, lot of good people here pulled for me...someone emailed me about posts being deleted....I couldn't confirm or deny becasue everytime I tried geting online with a new id it was getting banned within 5 minutes....and I wasn't even on the OD when it was happening.

Well back to your comments...yeah you have the spreader bar thing but also the 1,000 lb of dead weight too....I asked a couple shops who said yeah we can do it..then i asked about the weights and they asked what the weights were for....one shop flat out said he couldn't do it becasue he didn't have the weights needed....that was a Tires Plus shop....the place I preffer to go. as they could do a car that has been lowered.

That is so wonderful to hear..I've been reading your thread since the begining and i've been working so much lately. When I logged back on tonight I started reading threads. When I got to yours it was like reading a Novel where you read about half of it and then can't wait to see how the outcome is, you jump to the back and read the last chapter.lol

Andy has a natural talent few people have.........it will serve him well in life....I know there are members who have been wrenching years would have had far more trouble than he has. In a few years of wrenching I can see him climbing into the ranks of the better amateur mechanics here.

Andy,

I'm sorry I was so busy I couldn't get to see you when you were up here last weekend. Did you go to the Henry Ford museum? It is only a mile from my work. I can see the Ford test track and Greenfield village from my desk window. Between Dragon boat racing at Belle Isle and a company picnic on Saturday and building my garage addition on Sunday, I couldn't get away at all.

I hear you were mobbed at the MB event and that Adam took first place with his 300D. Good going the both of you.

Ah, yes, I did see the Henry ford museum. It was really cool. I esp. liked the Dimaxian (sp?) house... It was really cool.

Yeah, I deffinatly had the worst car there at Gemutlichkeit, but it was still fun.

Adam didnt take first, he took second in his class right under the Best of Show car that somehow made it into his class.

All and all, it was a great time, but I would have liked to meet up with you and see your cars and talk.. Maybe next time eh?
