Real VIN #?
Im going to look at a 83' 300 Turbo Diesel. I looked up the VIN #, and it says its a 300DT 3.8L FI V8. Can someone tell me if this VIN is real, or if something weird is going on. My best guess is that its just a problem with the computer records, but I want to be sure.

The carfax on the 83 i just bought did the exact same thing. I think it might just be a glitch in the carfax system.

3.8 liter?
All of us are wanting to know where we can get a 3.8 liter 5 cylinder MB diesel?

Even though these VIN databases cost many thousands of dollars, they are still notorious for their errors once you get past the year/make/model fields. This particular model has the following conflicting info:
cylinders: 5 engine info: 3.8L V8 FI NF fuel type: Diesel engine size: 3L I mistyped in my earlier post. I am new to the Mercedes world, so can someone tell me what is correct here? J |
