My car weighs..
3700lbs with me and 1/8th tank of fuel per our scales at work. Little more hefty than I thought.

MBs have always weighted about 3600 lbs for the "small" model and 4000 plus or minus a but for the large (S class) models. Hasn't changed, so far as I know, since about 1953. Newer ones will be a bit lighter, but not much.
The are almost exactly the same dimensions, too. Wheelbase, track, overall length, etc. The W126 SELs were a bit longer than earlier models, but only by a few inches. About the same size as a 300d in 1950.... Peter
