I ordered mine from performance products. Do you have their catalog? If not, make sure and go to their website and get one (they're free). The catalogs are worth their weight in gold because they identify virtually every part on the car.

The part was not too much. $10 or so if I remember right.

i should be reciving their catalog in a few days. i ordered it about a week ago. will the reamer they have fit all diesels or only the ones with the pencil style pluggs?

There are TWO different reamers which depend on whether you have the old large "loop style", or the small new "pin style." Make sure you get the right one!

what does a glow plug reamer do ?

leathermang 09-27-2004 08:25 PM

A glow plug is only designed to be " ON" a few minutes at a time... to start the engine....
If carbon builds in around them it can short the heating element to the block... keeping them on all the time.... and quickly burning them out....
Pictures of this are in the MB factory shop manual.... and this information came from the same place...
