Maybe I could use the old motors on the opposite sides and get a custom bracket made up? I will need to take a look when I plan on doing the swap. Then I would only need the euro arms.
If you swap the motors from left to right, you'll need to modify the wiring. Left and right wiper motors are wired differently.

Bump

Need to continue this thread. Found some Used Bosch Euros and now need to decide what to do with the wipers. I want to keep them if possible. Seems like there was a change between mid 80's 126 and my '87. I am still having trouble visualizing how the wipers need to be so different.

Simple. The USA wipers only wipe the headlight, not the foglight. Therefore the Euro wipers not only have a longer blade, but a different area swept. If you don't drive in bad weather often (snow, etc) the wipers are of little use anyway. I just removed them on my 124.

Did you find replacement trim pieces for the bottom, repair what you have or just do nothing?

I got replacement 'blank' trim without the holes and 'rattle-can' painted them. They're about $10 each, plus $25+ for a color-matched spray can from Tower Paint. Looks great though.

I bought blank panels from Phil in Fastlane. Had them painted while a bodyshop guy went over the car, removing what the PO had touched up with the WRONG SHADE paint
Looks better IMHO than wipers (I always thought they looked, well, superflous)

Dave, I think yours is the first 124 I've seen that still has an intact tie down cover on the lower bumper.

I should be receiving my Euro lights (and blank trim panels) in the mail any day now...unfortunately, they're TYC's Question: Has anyone replaced the wipers with high pressure sprayers like those used by Audi and others? Probably would need the high pressure pump, relay and sprayer nozzles.

your wipers have sprayers as well, just that they are not that strong. They seem to just moist the lens while the wiper wipes the lens clean.

Ya I know, but since all the wiring and plumbing is already in place, I thought it would be an interesting upgrade to install a newer high pressure system given that I have to remove the wipers for the Euro lights anyway. Here in the rainy NW it's nice to keep the road muck off the lights on long road trips along the I-5 corridor.

I would have to disagree with you there. The whole body as one color would look very slick.

My first SD was all grey, now my second SD is Cream with grey panels.

I am planning on paintign everything Black. It will look so slick and sexy.

Trust me it will look great. Midnigh Blue is a nice color also....

All up to you. I seen plenty of two tones to know the difference. When I come across a 1 color SD it really catches my eye, the Crome just POPS! . Good luck on your decision.

If anyone is interested I have a pair of the panels with the hole in them for the wiper assembly and the wiper assembly w/ wiper arm and motor complete. It's in used condition, needs to be repainted but in good mechanical condition. US spec ofcourse....

If anyone is interested PM me. Best Offer. Not looking to get rich, just get these out of my garage and to someone that could use them.

If anyone had a pair of blank panels for below the headlights, I would be interested. Of course if they were Maroon already, I would be REAL interested.

I have seen the 6 pin connectors on e-bay. I think I also heard that they are the same as the taillight connectors which you can get for a couple bucks at a dealer. Which way to go? It is hard to plan this conversion without the damn things in my hands yet.

Get rid of the wipers Alan unless you want to spend $300 to get the proper Euro's. I was looking at Brian's and I like the clean look, I think when I get Euro's I will go that way.

But Alan get clear corners! I have seen pics of your car, dark W126's look so nice with clear corners!

I agree, this is a great idea. What cars have this system already that we could pull compatible parts from?
