Well it took you guys a while but the speedo was my first clue as to the "actual"mileage. So far as I know [which ain't far compared to some of you guys] the '82 came with the 85mph speedo. My '85 has a 120 mph speedo. When was the change?

Cheers,

Bill

Possibly my eyes are getting crooked or . . . the 6 in the thousands place is lower than the numbers to either side. Even if with a replacement this one seems to have been adjusted. My first attempt at fixing my odometer after it started slipping had a couple of skewed digits. Being a 6, it should have clicked to the same level as the left-hand 6.

The dealer apparently has. he states" no accidents/body work" and he mentioned a few other things that made me think he has done a car fax.

My car fax ran out just the other day or I'd check myself. Car fax leaves a lot of wide open territory on a 20 year old car. They only go back to 1995, I believe, as that is when it was first organized.

Bill

Just checked the price on this "low mileage" cream puff---Just like the dealer said, he's got $7600 for her now and still plenty of time left to bid. It must be a nice ride for that price.

Cheers,

Bill

The change was in 1983. My '82 wagon is # 10,250 and it has an 85MPH speedo.

Here is the kicker for me to smell foul..
1. Note the condition of the rims including the spare..... Hmmmm

2. *** Note the pic of the vin tag. it has a CANADA sticker right above it.... Don't Canadian cars come with metric speedos????

GOOD eye on the vin... Canadian cars do come with metric speedos I believe and that would explain the 120mph swap. It also explains the "low" mileage. One did sell last night for $7600 with 207k on the clock and this one was up to that mark as of last night[Thurs. 9/30].

I did notice the rims were peeling. With the rims so coroded I wonder what kind of condition the under carriage is in? No pics of that OR the engine bay. Now I wonder why that is???LOL

Cheers,

Bill

Somebody must be a believer 'cause this car is up to $8000 and still has 3 days to go.

Anyone on this forum looked at it in person/bid on it?

cheers,

Bill

Have you guys been following this auction? I can't believe the price of this car, although I did see someone with a black cd with something like 40,000 "actual" miles- which may have been accurate - trying to get $20,000.

Cheers,

Bill

The gauges also changed from a silver center to a black center, not sure what year though.

I thought '83 to '85 run didn't have many changes, and the TD's and CD's seemed to get the changes first (like a turbo) then the D's the next model year......which makes me think these gauges aren't original. Anyone else have silver centers '83 or newer?

Looks pretty clean though.

Craig

WHOA-$10,575. I wonder if thats a record price?

And the buyer happens to be from Ocean City, Md. where I happen to frequent. Maybe I'll see it around.

Too bad such a nice car winds up in that salt air enviroment.

Cheers,

Bill
