Hello all,

I decided seven months ago I wanted a 79-83 300D for my commute here in the DC area. Over the summer I narrowed my choice down to an 83 W123. and have been searching diligently every day since. Earlier this week I purchased an 83 300TD.(I pick it up tomorrow) This car is arrived here in southern Maryland three years ago from CA and it is the first 83 I've looked at since March in wich everything works....even the cruise. It has 177,000 miles and the odometer has always worked. The interior is perfect, the A/C works even the power antenna. I am looking forward to joining the ranks of MercedesShop diesel owners and hanging out here in the forum.

I also live in southern MD. I commuted from the Chesapeake Bay to Alexandria Va in a beautiful 240D for two years. I recently sold it and bought a 300SD with only 155k. My commute is now much longer. Maybe we should get together sometime and talk WVO. I'm still in the fact gathering stage, but with diesel at over $2/gal here, it might be time to consider at least a mixture.
