Pete,
I replace the fuse as you suggested - the wrong one! Anyway, I did manage to kill the glow plug light. Must have done something when I popped the instruments out. I've got voltage at the plugs but dash indicator stopped working. UGH.

Another bone head move. I ordered a spare driver side window regulator from a junkyard a few months ago. I finally put it in today and was pleasantly suprised at how well it went. I finish up, put the tools away and look on the ground at the door bottom light. Wait it gets worse - I also forgot to thread the wires for the door light through the door panel. Take everything off and put it back on. I was tempted to shove the light in and forget about it but it's a mercedes! Anybody want to have a driver's door panel removal and replacement race?

Dave

Haha...
I've had my freaking door panel off 5 times already...silly car...that door lock is giving me issues (so was the window when I got it)
all is well and good
and now poof the tumber is going haywire..
btw window regulators can be rebrushed...I did mine with briggs and stratton small engine eletric starter brushes
just ground the length with a file and poof...window...:)

You probably pulled the wire off the bulb, or it may be burned out.

Worst case you have a glow plug out, but then it will flash.

Those bulbs seem to be sensitive, esp when old...
