Thumbs up Hey Everyone

Hello all,

Just joined up after searching and reading for days. Selling my posh Lexus and am in the process of purchasing a 1983 300D from a neighbor. Car is absolutely perfect with around 200k. So far the site has been filled with helpful information, and I'm sure i'll reference it in the near future.

I don't "have" the car yet (waiting for money to transfer) but I did sneak a few pics. Beauty is I'm buying it from a lady in my condo complex. Hows it look?!

Got it

Got the car yesterday afternoon.

Took it for a nice long drive. Felt great, and smelled even better.

The previous owner (also the first owner) told me she had been running a half bottle of redline every other tank of diesel since it was new. She even threw in an almost full case of the stuff. Pretty cool. Of course driving raises questions, so I'm sure I will have some luck searching. However,

I went to fill it up and couldnt get it started. No matter how hard i tried the key just wouldn't budge. I called the lady I bought it from and she happily came down to the gas station... to show me that I had been trying to start it with the wrong key (it wasnt that obvious)

I had a similar thing... first time I took my 300D to the gas station, I couldn't get the fuel door open. Called the P.O., learned it's a vacuum thing... boy did I feel stupid, although the P.O. was quite nice about it

Does it have the avacado interior too? I looked at a 75 240D over the weekend, the car was MB lime green with avacado seats etc, also a bee's nest!

Look's in fine shape.........hopefully a lucky find...

Steve....
