How many forum members..

does it take to change a light bulb? I thought this was great..

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another
6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and
therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions
about light bulbs"
2 elderly forum members to reminisce about how much better the light bulbs wer in the old days
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Hatterasguy 10-09-2004 10:02 PM

It sounds like some threads we have here. :D

boneheaddoctor 10-09-2004 11:10 PM

:D I thought that was a good one. :D

It also takes:
1 member to read the post, and change the bulb wrong, and fry his car, then post the results of what went wrong...

20 to say that they read the post wrong and they shouldn't be working on cars...

5 to say that if you don't use the proper wattage bulb it will fry everything, and cause major damage to electronics...

JerryBro 10-10-2004 12:09 PM

...and...

1 to ask if switching to synthetic oil will make the bulbs last longer or burn brighter.

athensbenz 10-10-2004 12:20 PM

:D Hilarious

Jim H 10-10-2004 01:24 PM

(1) to ask if it was burned out, or just changed as Preventative Maintenance ... ;)

Palangi 10-10-2004 02:36 PM

We need somebody to tell us that it's Bush'es fault that the light bulbs of the poor and middle class burn out, while the light bulbs of the rich robber baron Republican and Libertarian capitalists burn ever brighter. (It just hasn't been the same since those guys went over to BenzWhirled dot org).

Maybe one to suggest using frequency grease.
...or...better yet...
How many forum members would it take to change the muffler bearings?

At this point I must throw in this story-

My friends wife was making a run to the auto store and asked the rest of us if we needed anything. Hmmm----I need some headlight fluid, yellow and not the blue. Ok she says as the rest of us hold back tears. Off she goes, and upon her arrival back with the goods told me she would never ask if I needed anything again. To this day I would love to talk to the counter person that helped her. :)

Sorry-off subject I know but couldn't help but to throw it in after reading the muffler bearings comment...

Cheers,

Bill

Old Deis 10-11-2004 10:08 AM

By my count Turbodiesels original post had 187 members in there. We have now added another 27, bringing the total to 214.
Great job guys.

Hatterasguy 10-11-2004 01:33 PM

Don't forget the few members that will have a little argument inside the thread. They will then start a new thread to make up, after they feel good and make up then 20 other members well throw in their 2 cents. :D

and don't forget to never deviate from the oem model designation and never ever ever call the engine a ''motor'' ...hehe :D

Jim Anderson 10-12-2004 05:33 PM

Synthetic oil on some high mileage light bulbs will make them leak.

iwrock 10-04-2007 03:21 PM

How about almost 2 years later?

TheDon 10-04-2007 03:40 PM

nice one grave digger

blindwolf 10-04-2007 05:00 PM

What find of O ring should we use?

2.5Turbo 10-04-2007 05:21 PM

Make the second to last one

2 elderly forum members to reminisce about how much better the MB's were in the old days

Wallknight 10-04-2007 08:31 PM

Has anyone tried upgrading to LED's?

bustedbenz 10-04-2007 09:27 PM

You forgot me in the list, one to do the search and still not be able to figure it out and start a new thread on it anyway :-D

ForcedInduction 10-05-2007 04:09 AM

What oil do you think is best, because I know Mobil is better. :D

RUN-EM 10-05-2007 06:02 AM

AND add another member .....

to the total. His debate is whether the light bulb failure was caused by the use of veggie oil as the main fuel propellant. Oh, yes, add another post for the guy that claims that the whole thing could have been prevented by the use of b-20 or b-100.

Regards

Run-Em

RUN-EM 10-05-2007 06:04 AM

Oh, forgot one guy ....

that claimed the use of non-stock benz lights (lamps) will cause the failure of the cruise control amp box under the dash.

Regards

Run-Em

BodhiBenz1987 10-05-2007 12:27 PM

Don't forget the smart*** who comes along and suggests the original poster forgot to refill the blinker fluid while changing the bulb, a maintenance measure that should always be taken ... ;)

Wallknight 10-05-2007 01:50 PM
