Ferrari F40 shares parts with the W123 and W126
I just noticed that the door latch and striker are the Mercedes "cone" style.
Why did MB ditch that idea and go with the "hook and eye" style?

Cool, I wonder why Mercedes changed their door latch style after the W126?
To bad they don't share larger F40 parts like the engine.   The F40 is my second favorite Ferrari right behind the 250GTO.

My dad's Allante also has the same door strikers, and a MB style door handle. I think is uses many other MB parts throughout...
