Let me first say that the Ol' Boob has moved into the fast lane, got me a sweet 84 300D, very nice condition. Bought it mainly because it has absolutely no rust! None anywhere. This is my 3rd Benz diesel in three years, but first turbo, big difference in power.

Now for the ALDA. I was a little suprised that this car was so sluggish off the line, I found myself pushing the pedal about 3/4 down to get it moving. Talked to Oil Slick last night, and at his suggestion, gave the ALDA about a full turn CCW. Car now moves right out from a dead stop, much quicker! A blown 5 iron, I'm in pressurized heaven! SWEET!

Made my car less sluggish before boost comes on too. But don't crank to far, or too hard. You'll break it.

If you've checked, did you notice any drop in mpg?

I guess that matters on how much you cranked it. But no I haven't checked mine yet. Have other issues that came up and waiting for parts to fix them.

Fuel delivery problems..............

Loss of power...briefly

thats the long and the longer version there.

Had a bad primer pump........now thinking Microcracks on the "clear" lines around the IP. They are color of maple syrup.

definately something keeping enough fuel from reaching it to maintain more than 45mph for extended periods. Sucking the main filter dry at faster speeds. Either fuel restriction of a air leak.

Damn was so reliable and good running up till now.

Was able to get my Alda seal cap off without destrying it or cutting it. Got lucky I guess.

Thats about a $10 part, easy install, bleed air at the main filter, and injector line, if need be.

Got the pump at NAPA for $19.53, orderd the other lines from Fastlane. I thing Phill says the replacements are steel lines not plastic. In any case they were not in great shape due to age. So if its the problem or not, they won't become an issue later.

Need to get me a Boost and Pyrometer so I can put on my boost controller to make sure it is putting out as much boost as the factory recomends.
