Unhappy I've had it with my 300CD

Today I replaced the lamps in the instrument panel, and the trip odometer stopped working. For a while I was thinking I might keep it for a while, but not anymore . Also it is starting to look like it needs a new AC Servo, and a bunch of other parts. I wish I could just find someone who could take it off of my hands for me

Hey Eric.

Just ship it over, I'll take it.

I have a little room left for a coupe.

LOL

Serious, sorry to hear about the problems your having.

Maybe you could give Kent at ************** a call
or drop him an email.(Sorry Phil)
He might have a used one laying around somewhere for a
reasonable price.

Louis.

PS: Nice part of the country you live in.
I looked it up, very nice.

On the other coast from me, but I'm still curious what you're asking for it. I have an 85 CD that is my baby.

To start with, the car has surface rust where the car has been repainted and all has cracked. Also all the seals around the windows need to be replaced one of these days. no leaks, but they are cracked in many places. The cars heater does not work, however I did get the vents to function the way they should. The interior is in better than average condition for being a 1979, and very few rips and tears in it.

In the past 2 years I have replaced the transmission, starter, battery, water pump, fan clutch, oil filter housing gaskets, and various other things. My first thoughts on price was $1800, but I am willing to sell it for a lot less. Right now I am thinking maybe $1100

Eric, I have an '85 190-2.3 injection gasser that doesn't really fit my needs and if you're interested in a trade just to do something wild and wacky, e-mail me @: tscott@sinclair.net
Include the words Mercedes Diesel in the subject line, I delete a lot of spam.

I'm a man with no children and, frankly, I SHOULD be driving a coupe. That's the way I see it, anyway.

I'm located in Wenatchee, and it is very drivable in it's current condition. Just no working heater, and the transmission might need to be serviced...

There are some pictures on this link:

Question

Eric, You say the trans may need servicing? What is it doing? Do you think it can make it over the mountains?

I can't tell it it is downshifting on steep grades like it is supposed too, but it doesn't seem to like them that much, but it also could just be that I am used to a gas powerd car that can climb these same hills well over 90 mph...

That would be about a 5,000mi trip. I'd really like to have

your car - but I'll beg off. Thanks for your reply. Gonna look for somethin' closer. There's a '77 240d(it's a 4cyl) here with a '83 parts car for $2200. Maybe I'd better stick with that.

Jim
