I had my transmission rebuilt awhile ago at 178,000 km. and the shop showed me the broken band that caused the loss of forward gears. Access to the bands requires dropping the tranny. IOW, will require a rebuild.

Do a search "transmission modulator" or "flaring" for more info on how to make some adjustments. Also, I read TransX or Lucas Transmission fix atf additive may help.

Good luck.

i know they can be tightened because i have found info on this before. i just cant remember where i found it. i have tried both trans-x and the lucas tranny lube. the trans-x did nothing and the lucas made it shift smoother. i know you can adjust the modulater but then the gears shift sooner.
