air filter hole?

I wanted to check an air cleaner mount that was causing some noise and had to take off the air filter to get to it...when I was returning the air filter, i noticed an extra hole on the base of the air filter (besides the three ones for the three mounts) IS THIS NORMAL?

When I took mine off, there was one in mine. But it doesnt much matter because it is before the air enters the filter. So dont worry about it.
