kick down switch ...

my 83 300dt ( 305k miles ) suddenly will not upshift to 'high' gear. seems my 84 300sd had a similiar problem. i replaced the kick down switch and all was well. time for another switch? thank you.

If you disconnect the switch and the problem goes away, then it's the switch.

Seems to be a lot of those switches going bad these days.

some people have been noticing the wire that goes to the trans. from the kickdown switch gets the insulation worn off near the trans. end and creates a short there...
