Just something funny...

Take a look at the pic of the car and then read the first sentence in the "vehicle description"

He has to be either blind or the worst scam artist in documented history, or a combination of the 2. :D

The Diesel gods have ways of dealing with forum members sending links to BMW ads.

Repent.

Not made for the American market until 1985??

Hmmmm.....Here we have a super rare car-an '84 that wasn't supposed to exisit until '85 :D :D

Just shows the extremes sellers will go through to try and sell their junk but this guy tripped on his own shoestring.

Ya think anyone will fall for it??? There's one born every minute :D

Bill

Vehicle Description

You are bidding on a rare European BMW 635Csi coupe. These were not made for the U.S. until 1985; however, almost all parts are interchangeable with 1985 and newer versions. Of course this engine is the one coveted for its extra horsepower. As this is a "grey-market" vehicle, check whatever implications there may be for this in your area.

I am currently the third owner of this amazing car, and hold almost all of the records for this vehicle over its lifetime, including all import documents and U.S.D.O.T. certifications. It was imported on July 14, 1985 direct from Germany to U.S. port #1803 in Jacksonville Florida through an Arthur J. Fritz & Co.

I purchased the car from its second owner on August 11, 2001 at its home in St. Augustine, FL., just prior to an amazingly entertaining ride home to PA!!!

This has been an ongoing project, a daily driver, and my passion for the past three years...

Vehicle Condition

The body and paint are in great condition other than two light dents (one on the driver's side front quarter-panel, and one on the passenger's side door). It still has a clean title, and other than the superficial blemishes on the metal, there is no major damage. I have a couple of sources local to me for parts needed to make almost every repair desired. Talk to me if this is helpful.

Within a week of purchasing this vehicle, I began to replace almost all major mechanicals to ensure reliable operation and, not surprisingly, this car has never left me down. I have records for the following repairs and upgrades which I made while the car was garaged for the latter half of 2002, and part of the beginning half of 2003 (This is a partial list):

Distributer Cap and Rotor, Thermostat, Grille Trim, Trunk Seal, Fuse Box Cover, Euro Front Marker Lens, Marker Lights (left and right rear), UUC Motorsport Short-shifter Kit (including new foam surround and shifter mechanisms), Euro Fog Lamp Assembly, Gas Filter and Gasket, Water Pump, Accessory Bulbs and Lenses, Brake Accumulator, Fan Clutch, Instrument Cluster, A/C Repair, Front and Rear Brake Rotors and Pads, etc...

The above listing is of new parts replaced only months ago (total investment in parts and repairs totals well over $3000). Now the bad news...

The car does NOT come with the european license plate; sorry...

This car is not without its problems, and I would be remiss if I failed to disclose the following information. Despite a new trunk seal and new seals around the taillights, the trunk still somehow manages to take on moisture from time to time; Some of the trunk inserts are warped from aforementioned moisture problem; Though the sunroof has never leaked during my watch, the headliner has always been lightly stained; The headliner just above the windshield is pulled down, as the masonite that holds it it broken; The sunroof works manually, but not with the switches on the headliner (though pressing the buttons does invoke some sound and very limited movement of the cable mechanism -- cursory observation reveals nothing major -- probably a struggling motor); The dashboard is cracked as these models always have over time; The leather on the upper part of the steering wheel is worn and missing; The left interior door handle and two slider knobs on the upper vent controls are missing (I am getting these replaced prior to sale); The handle for the glove box is broken, though it is still able to be opened; There is a slight crack in the lower rear corner of the glovebox (not visible unless underneath glovebox); The rubber covers for the storage compartments behind the rear seats have peeled off of their metal frames; The instrument cluster has been replaced with one from an American model to get it to pass inspection, as the odometer/speedometer on the Euro one stopped at 78712 prior to me buying it (as they always do resultant of the rubber/plastic gears inside breaking) -- I still have the other instrument cluster and under-dash cover; The odometer still doesn't work properly (turns about 1 every 50 miles or so); The headlight switch is loose in dash; The windshield wipers sometimes turn on only when car is started for about 1.5 minutes; The windshield is lightly scratched as a result of the aforementioned wiper problem; Shifting is slightly stiff since fluid was replaced in gearbox (suspect either this or possible clutch slave cylinder problem); The tires will need to be replaced, as they are worn versions of the TRX metric (I can inlclude another set of SAE wheels with nearly new tires with the car by request), The exhaust has a hole in it just in front of the O2 sensor, causing it to run a litte rough and not pass inspection; The muffler is broken at the point where it is welded to the rest of the exhaust pipe.

Yeah, this things in "GREAT SHAPE"

Good grief! Two "light" dents???? The whole freakin' door is caved in, and the front fender on the other side is compleely wrinkled!
