Injector Leaking 97 E300d

I have a leaking injector There is a little bit of fuel pooling up near the base of the injector I don't see any fuel leaking at the compression fitting near the top. What could I do to remedy this? do I need a special wrench?. Thanks!... Indy

That is most likely the cloth covered fuel return lines leaking. Buy a meter of the real stuff from the dealer and replace them all.

I do notice a slight missing at times durning accelleration. It's not missing at idle, no jerkiness just doesn't sound smooth at acceleration all the time. I didn't notice leakage on the hose, but I can look again.. Anything else I should check if it is not the hose? It looks like it is way down near the bottom. The reason I pulled the cover off was I could smell diesel strong. Thanks!.... Indy

Ok I trimmed the ends of the hoses whiilst I wait for the new hose, But I find that the pool of diesel by the injector is not fuel, but oil. So I don't know what to think.. Any ideas? Thanks!... Indy

Remember, diesel engine oil is black. Is this stuff black, or just oily?

It's black, about 1/4 oz of oil give or take..... I just noticed it for the first time. don't know how long is has been there.. Thanks.. Indy

Ok Called the Mercedes Garage they said diesel that sits for a long time in a spot on the engine will turn black and oily he also said it could be a lifter gasket, but since I was smelling diesel it may just be leaky hose.. After I replace the hose I guess time will tell.. Thanks for your help... Indy
