should I buy it?

hello need advice. right now i own a 79 240d with a 300d turbo engine in it. It is very nice. also have a 93' honda accord ex stick shift in mint condition with 93,000 miles on it. I love the 126 and the 123s. On Sat i will be seeing an 81'sd The car is a one owner car it has 180,000, but the engine was repalced 2 years ago by the MB dealer. only 6ooo on new engine. also car was taken in for overhaul at mb dealer in ringwood nj about 6 months ago. Lady has all reciepts. car was her fathers who passes away. and she does not want to put it in storage she says she will give it to me cheap cause car is here and she lives in west coast. only fault i found when i went to see where it was parked is that it has a rust spot underneath taillight about size of a silver dollar

If she has all the records for it, and shes not asking too much, I would say go for it!

Just my $.02

whats cheap?

I mean if they have $10 g's worth of receipts and sell it for $7500 that might be cheap to them but as a buyer thats pricey.

Cheers,

Bill

Big Ju:

How much is she asking for the car? It is hard to give an opinion without the selling price. How is the interior?

Thanks,

-George

At the right price I would buy it. Figure 3/400to fix rust if truly as described. If you do not buy it... PM me with the owner info. .

I had an opportunity like this about 4 years ago. It was a ratty 81 300SD with a BRAND NEW MB factory engine and transmission. Asking price was $3500.. but remember this was 4 years ago. The interior was just too ratty for me.
