1980 300D climate control servo

The climate control servo is leaking it appears from the plastic base . Any hints on repairing? This isn't a cheap part to replace.

Does it still operate properly? If its leaking and working your best bet is to use 3M fast cure 5200 on the exterior of the base. My first one on my '80 wagon leaked and I replaced it with a yard unit. Didn't work, and replaced it again and not leak and working. I can pull one from the yards here that looks good- no trails of leaking, and still appears to have the original "dollop" of RTV gasket on the tops of the screws for about $75 including shipping. I can't test them, and even though I've taking four units apart, they are not really a diy project on the inside. I'd have to add it to the list of "parts to pull" if you want me to find one here in the yards of South Florida.

You can find rebuilt units for $350 + core charge. Put one in my '79 in Sept. They wrap the rebuilt bodies in metal.

Don't try and take it apart yourself, and fix it. I did this with mine, and it worked fine for about 30 minutes, then it self-destructed and started gushing coolant. Right now I can't drive the car until I bypass the AC Servo, which is turning into a big pain, because I want to do it for about $10. **************.com has a bypass kit for about $90, which looks like it would be a good investment...

Hey MTUpower
Any way I can return the unit you have if it doesn't work with a refund less shipping?

Must be my lucky day. Found that the hoses going to servo were bad. Replaced and no more leaks

I just bypassed my AC Servo with a manual valve and some fittings, and it cost me about $20. It seems to be working fine so far...
