I want it

I'm going to call them right now. I wonder how much I have to pay for it to get the "free shipping" deal? I guess I'll find out in a bit. But that's not a bad drive from Colorado. These get better MPG's and and are "faster" than the 126's aren't they? I assume this is a 124? I'm sorry, I don't crap. |

Car looks good, and it looks like it has had some major work done in the last year. It looks like it has had some suspension work, as well as a new transmission

It's been repainted.
I think a prepurchase might reveal some interesting things about this car! |

Right on, WebWench - Considering the mileage, I would think a prepurchase inspection is definitely in order.

uh, yeah
Ok, so had I read the "History of the 300D" in the ad I would have known that it was a 124. I never read those history things, it's like an infomercial or something.
But how do you know it's been repainted? It looks like in 2001 it had new bumpers put on and those were painted. Tranny and suspension work on a 231K miles car doesn't seem that odd to me. But still, a pre-inspection would be nice. But with 24 hours left, don't think it'll happen. I have to kick this MB addiction! It's all I can think about! Argh. I just want to buy one so I can stop thinking about them and looking for them. Yes, I know, bad reason to buy. But dammit mercedes, leave me alone! |

Also, 'million mile motor'? I always find that claim irritating. Most of these engines don't get to a million miles, or even 500,000, and claiming that they 'always' or 'regularly' do is misleading and not very honest, in my opinion. Hey, all that said, it looks nice, and if it is as represented, I'd be proud to drive it. I'd be very leery of buying anything without at least looking at it and driving it first, though, no matter how nice it looks. |

Maybe if I wasn't scared of getting caught looking for cars at work, I'd see that myself and I wouldn't ask stupid questions.
They do have this "OUR GUARANTEE: WHEN YOU COME TO OUR DEALERSHIP TO TAKE DELIVERY AND ARE NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED, YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE!" But then you're out the trip and probably the deposit too. And you know what, I do want to see this million mile car. I think the most miles I've seen on a car for sale is 371K. But I guess if you had 800K, you wouldn't be trying to sell it. Since when has one of these got 1,000,000 miles, and without a rebuild, cause that would pretty much void that claim. I have seen, in person, a toyota truck with 400K on it with no major repairs. Just clutch and oil changes for the most part. |

Any well cared for MB engine should be able to see 350,000 miles without a major rebuild, some might make it to 400,000 miles, some might even go 500,000
