no reverse on my 300d!

help everyone!!!

I read a post regarding a 1980 W123 300d suddenly having no reverse.
Forward Drive is OK. From what I read before, there is a bolt that you
have to adjust or tighten on the right side of the transmission. The thing is,
i went under the car and i saw the bolt .... just want to make sure if it is
the right bolt that i am pertaining . If somebody could show me a picture, I
would gladly appreciate it ... THANKS IN ADVANCE!

BTW, my car is also a 1980 w123 300D (US version).

sady,

thanks for the reply!!!

yesterday (sunday today here in Manila, 8:35pm), my
mechanic removed the valve body of the transmission from the
oil pan, he showed me the other half part (broken bolt) of the
adjustment bolt for the reverse band. . . thats the reason why
the reverse doesn't engage. . . good thing i have an extra transmission!
My mechanic will try to replace it on Monday (tomorrow).

What do you think is the probable cause why the bolt broke?
What would be the proper adjustment of the bolt for the reverse band?

It happened when i was trying to parallel park the car, then my right front
tire bumped the sidewalk gutter i little hard . when i tried to move forward
so i can fix my parallel parking, it wont reverse anymore!!!!

Funny thing is ... i have to look for a another parking space wherein i can
park in a forward/frontward position... (luckily...nobody parked in front of
my car) ...after the party...went straight home at once.

thanks,

jonas
