"Built to Mercedes Specs"

There is your indicator !

Ain't no "New Engine" "built to Mercedes Specs" on Planet Earth!!!!

Either it is a "Caged Engine" (complete) from Mercedes

Or some form of "Rebuild / Reman"

GOOD LUCK !

It has the old style fuel primer pump.

If it is new, why is the oil cooler line holding its bend?

I don't like the fact that it is being sold "as-is", for all I know someone took and old worn out engine and painted all the parts, and cleaned it up nice

Maybe somebody got a new power washer for their birthday.

Also note: "0" feedback, but member since June 17, 1999. Go figure?

So you people are saying they cant make a new engine?

Can they possibly buy every part?

Does it cost around that price?

Of course you can still get a new engine. Your local MB dealer will be more then happy to take your order for a crate 617!

This one looks like a clean up job.

How much would a crate 617.951 engine cost? That'd be interesting!

I'd say $8k-$9k but don't forget you will need a few other things. Like a new rad, trans, engine mounts ect. So probably a $9k job if you do a little your self.
