Aternator

The alternator has failed on my 81SD. Have it apart, and I do not think a replacement of the brush pack will work. The stator is worn severly.
Partslane here shows a 65 amp and a 55 amp. Is there any reason not to buy the higher amp alternator? The price is only $20 higher. Need to know if there is anything else that would not work. I think my old one was 55 amp. Hard to read the marks on the old one.

Thumbs up Alternator

I read somewhere that the 65 amp is for cars with power windows. Whether this is true or not, unknown. Maybe someone will chime in.
