84 300SD fuel rails

Glad I found this site. When I replaced the rear brake line a couple of months ago I had to remove the clamps that hold the fuel and brake lines to the body. I noticed a lot of rust on the fuel rails. The fuel rails have now begun to leak, slowly, somewhere between the tank and where the rail runs straight to the front of the car. Can I just buy some steel fuel line and replace the lines or is this an OEM only project?

I just did a quick search on Fast Lane ( I really hate that you can't do a keyword search on this....what a drag......) and under Fuel Delivery it had hoses, caps, etc. but not a single fuel rail.

Try callin Phil on the phone......

replace with stainless brake lines, this is not a dealer item. Remember to flare it appropriately at the ends so the irubber hose fits and does not leak.
Also, remember to clamp it to the framerail as before to avoid stress fractures due to vibration

job done

Thanks for the info. It took me 4 hours would have been faster if I had a lift. But i imagine few of us have access to such equipment. Secured to the frame and no leaks Tater
