240D, got the "shakes"

I checked the brakes on my new, too me, "82", Euro 240D and the fronts looked great, 80% on the pads and rotors looked "new". The rear pads needed replacing and the rotors were groved so I replaced pads & rotors but I still have the shakes while braking at, above 40 mph or so. I will check the front rotors with the dial indecator this morning but the shake doesnt feel like its in the front. Any ideas?? We had the car up on the lift and the suspension all looks good.

rotor could be glazed too in spots. would cause that. No vibrations driving steady state? at 50-70mph? that would eliminate tire and balance issues.

boneheaddoctor

The car drives nice and straight with a little tweek on the steering box to take up some play in the wheel, every thing seems nice and tight. The dial indicator showed they were warped so new ones will be on in the morning. They really looked new because there was no ridge on the outer edge. Maybe the pads come all the way out on the rears, These are the first I have done. Anyway we shall see in the morning. Thanks for the reply
