I've coveted the MB wagons for some time (we have 3 dogs and endless cargo), and am now considering a 1980 300TD, which needs some brake work. Does anyone know of a good parts supplier (other than the dealership) in Canada, preferably Eastern Canada? As with the VW's I've owned, I assume MB OEM parts are superior, but generally at a hefty price. Are there any non-OEM parts that I should be particularly careful of?

Based on my readings from your posts, the 300TD looks like a reasonable car for the DIY'er. Would most agree?

I would agree, it's a great car for DIYer. Just make sure you get one with a good rear suspension that can be costly to try and fix.
