Parting with my 1985 300D
I am the third owner of this great car, but I need to part with it. I am a parts manager of a Volkswagen/Audi dealership and after 5 years here they worked me over so I bought a new Audi.
Heres the scoop on my Mercedes 220,000 miles. I have owned it for one year and put the last 19k on it. I have replaced the timing chain and guides, replaced the air pump with a new one, not rebuilt, all new shocks and steering stabilizer, new lower ball joints, new updated trap box (warr) 4 new tires, all new belts and hoses, radiator and expansion tank, of course oil filters and air and fuel several times., all new motor mounts and new trans mount, replaced trans filter and installed an inline filter too. The A/C runs on R134 and works, replaced the thermostat and only used Mercedes coolant. New A/C controller box thing. New fuel lines and tank screen. The car has no rust what so ever, no cracks on the dash, both lighted vanity mirrors work and lids are not broken. Sunroof works and all the butons inside the car look new. I bought this car from a retired couple on Mercer Island, WA and they kept it very clean, and in a garage. No stains on the carpet and no leaks. The drivedrs seat has one small hole on the side and thats about the only thing bad i can think of. Asking $3,800.00 I can email lots of pictures Last edited by montanacw; 11-10-2004 at 11:25 AM. |

Wow Hope your Audi doesn't lose the ignition switch like my associate's car did when only 2 months new (it took Audi 2 weeks to import a switch from Germany before they could fix it!)
That's a nice sounding Benz you're selling. If I didn't already have too many 123's I'd buy it. I just replaced a Vac Pump using an OE part (not rebuild) I know what you mean on that. And I put new Bilsteins, all new suspension bushings and control arms, steering parts etc. on a couple of my cars so I know what you spent on parts You should have a pretty nice car with all that work done on it, I hope someone on the Forum gets it. I think the '85s are the best running of the 123's, even if one happens to have the trap oxidizer (which can be bypassed with a straight pipe). Oh yes, I suggest you post the info on the CARS for sale section. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1971 220 (gas) 4-spd manual 106441 1979 300TD w/ ’85 turbo engine 295530 1983 300D with '85 differential 243280 1985 300TD 217300 Non-CA Car ! 1987 300D 258230 Diesel Rocket ship!
